The most vital attribute when developing programs for youth is to assure them that they can be successful without having a career in on field professional sports.
Measuring the success of the programs include:
Entry Surveys
- To capture the overall personal goals of each Student-Athlete
- Identifying academic area weaknesses
- Assess athletic ability accordingly to perform at the highest level possible
- Career interests after graduation
Immediate Goals
- Assistance identifying short-term academic and athletic goals
- Provide academic guidelines and study help
- Awareness of expectations for next level and beyond
Long-Term Goals
- Assist students in developing a roadmap for their future, which includes identifying professional careers outside of sports
- Incoming high school freshmen will be put on pace for college education
- Students will select 5 professional careers not including sports
- Students will select 5 colleges of interest
- Learn to research funding avenues for grants/scholarships
Post-Camp Initiatives
- Camp and Program improvement Suggestions
- Revisit Short-Term and Long-Term Goals
- Follow up with parents to track progress academically and athletically
- Continued mentorship during year both academically and athletically by professionals of various career fields
